Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC)

Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC), Pune is a premier medical institute of the country acknowledged as a center of excellence for education and research. The college provides training to under-graduate and post-graduate medical and nursing students with assured career prospects in the defence services. It is affiliated to Maharashtra University of Health Science, Nashik and is recognized by the Medical Council of India. The Armed Forces Medical College was formed at Pune on 01 May 1948 by the amalgamation of Army Medical Training Center, the Army School of Hygiene, the Central Military Pathology Laboratory, the School of Blood Transfusion and Army School of Radiology.

Exam Date – 1st week of May
downloading and submission of application ONLINE is –March 5, onward.

NOTE: The intake capacity for MBBS is 130 including 105 boys and 25 girls.


    • The candidates must have passed 10+2 examination
    • Equivalent examination with aggregate 60% marks in Physics, chemistry,Biology & English.

 Age Limit :

    • Should attain the age of 17 years on 31st December

Exam Pattern :

    • The paper consists of 200 objective questions, 50 Questions for Physics, Chemistry and Biology each
    • 25 questions of General Knowledge and the rest are related to English and comprehension.

Duration of paper: 2 hours.
NOTE: A negative marking of 0.25 for every wrong answer.

Selection Procedure:

    • 1.Candidates will be required to appear in the competitive written test of Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Intelligence, logic, Reasoning and English Language and comprehension on around 06 May .
    • Candidates selected in the written test, will be called for interview at AFMC Pune in the month of June . No TA/DA would be admissible to the candidates either for written test, interview or at the time of reporting for admission.
