Sant Longowal Institute of Engineering & Technology (SLIET) Examination:

Sant Longowal Institute of Engineering & Technology (SLIET) is a Deemed-to-be-University and a national level institute established by Government of India through Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) to provide technical education in emerging areas of Engineering & Technology. This institute was set up in 1991 in the memory of late Sant Harchand Singh Longowal and is fully funded by Ministry of Human Resources & Development, Government of India.

SLIET also take admission in undergraduate engineering courses through Direct Admission of students Abroad (DASA 2011-12 ) to all those candidates who are of Indian origin but lives in abroad.

The university provides diploma certifications, degree courses at high levels including Ph.d levels. This is the first university that offers B. Tech degree courses to students who have done Diploma in any discipline.

It will be very helpful at the time of entrance exam to assess type of entrance exam paper & no. of question & time management for each question, so that candidates can attempt each question within set time duration.

    • SET-VI : For admission to M.Tech Programme Consists of one paper of two hours duration.

Paper-I :

      Related to the concerned PG Programme Question papers for all the SET Examinations will have objective types questions with multiple choice. Each Paper will have 100 objective type questions which carries 100 marks. Answers of the objective type questions are to be filled in the OMR answer sheet given separately. There will be no negative marking.

The medium of entrance examination SET-II, SET-III, SET-IV, SET-V & SET-VI, will be English. However, candidates appearing for the Entrance Test for Certificate Programmeme (SET-I) may answer the questions of Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics either in English, Hindi or Punjabi. Question Papers for these subjects will be provided in English, Hindi and Punjabi.

Eligibility Qualification SLIET:

Candidates seeking admission in B.Tech,M.Tech, diploma courses & Certificate courses of Sant Longowal Institute of Engineering & Technology (SLIET) must satisfy pre-requisite qualification criteria of SLIET engineering & technology courses whicha are given in brief as in..

    • All candidates who have passed Diploma course in any discipline from SLIET or from any other polytechnic affiliated with any State Board of Technical Education and approved by All India Council for Technical Education, are eligible to compete for admission to any of the Degree Programmes.

SLIET Selection Procedure:

    • Selection for admission is made strictly on the basis of merit determined in SLIET Entrance Test conducted separately for Certificate, Diploma, Degree and M.Tech. Programmes. Merit ranking criteria to take admission in Sliet Degree Programmes as well as in Certificate/ Diploma

SLIET Admission Procedure

Step 1:Interested candidates may apply for issuance of SLIET exam brochure free of cost if they satisfy the described eligibility conditions.

Step 2:SLIET information brochure may be studied carefully and application form contained in the brochure should be filled accordingly. Candidates desirous of getting admission under the PWD Scheme must mark the PWD column in the OMR Application Form. Choice of center for exam may also be filled carefully.

Step 3:Duly filled in application form shall be submitted at the address given in this brochure by the due date. No fee is to be paid for the SLIET entrance examination.

Step 4:: Details of SLIET entrance test 2011 & the prescribed SLIET paper syllabi are given in this brochure. Applicants shall prepare accordingly.

Step 5: Applicants will be sent an admit card mentioning their roll number and center.

Step 6:Applicants shall appear for the SLIET 2012 entrance test at the center allotted to them. They are advised to reach the center well in time.

Step 7:Result of the Entrance Examination shall be declared on the date mentioned in this brochure and the candidates shall reach for counseling on the prescribed date & time.
